Well, Spring Break week has quickly passed for CJ. In early March he tackled the slopes of Park City, UT with the boys. This week brought a variety of activities for us both. CJ began by working full days out at the Gilmer Airport. Tuesday we both took off work to travel to Dallas for CJ’s full day physical at Cooper Clinic. While he was busy running on the treadmill with electrodes on his chest I braved the Dallas traffic to the local FSDO. The FAA was serious about security in their 10th floor  office; I was escorted everywhere while wearing a self-expiring visitors tag. Tough work to get your name changed on pilots & mechanics licenses! Thursday morning CJ flew the C-182 to Albany, GA for the annual Riverview Plantation quail hunt with the boys. To keep me company while CJ was gone, my best friend, Jenny drove over from Birmingham for the weekend.Friday afternoon we had the pleasure of telling the Easter story to the kids at Good News Club. We also had to celebrate a very important 7th birthday with cake, balloons, and singing. Friday night we drove to Marshall, TX for a small town rodeo. It was Jenny’s first experience with this sort of thing & she was soaking it up. The best part was when she was a little close to the fence taking pictures of the bull riding competition. A rather large bull, after bucking his cowboy, proceeded to head straight for Jenny & her camera. After her narrow escape the announcer asked the crowd “Anyone want a 8x10 of that one?!”Saturday morning we went treasure hunting at Garage Sales. I found a wonderful kitchen table & chairs for $40. The old set has been officially retired to hangar life. We are excited to say that it is officially safe to sit at our table now. That afternoon we traveled to a Daffodil Garden near Gladewater. We took some fun pictures & enjoyed the surprise off-roading experieince. That night CJ & Brett arrived safely back at the Gilmer airport. We enjoyed having a full apartment for games & a movie. This morning CJ flew Brett back to Waco & Jenny returned to the great state of Alabama. We capped off the week tonight by celebrating Kevin’s birthday at Outback & dessert with friends at their house. *Our big news for the month is that we have agreed to rent a house. It is only 8 miles North of where we are currently and in a very nice neighborhood. I am excited to have more room to entertain guests and a yard for flowers & a garden.
