I had the opportunity to spend time at my grandparent's house while CJ was in Georgia quail hunting. Christy was there as well & we were able to get spoiled together. Grandma cooked hearty meals & we iced grandma's favorite sugar cookies together in fun spring shapes. Grandpa beat us in Caroms, as usual, & told us stories of growing up during the depression. We drank coffee & laughed late into the night.
During my time in Ohio I was reminded of the wonderful legacy my grandparents are leaving. They have led selfless lives, even in their retirement years. Their time has been purposely spent on things of eternal importance. Grandma & Grandpa have consistently invested in people & God's kingdom, which was evident even in our short time together last week. Grandma's testimony came up casually in conversation & the working of God in her life is part of a greater story. I am greatly blessed to have grandparents that pray for me & encourage me to store up treasures in heaven.

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth & rust destroy, & where thieves break in & steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth & rust do not destroy, & where thieves do not break in & steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Matthew 6:19-21

We had a wonderful opportunity for family time during a few short days in Michigan last week. We were also able to see & fellowship with some dear friends, J & Kirby, one late night & early morning. These relationships truly bless our hearts.

Port Alsworth received a good amount of snow with low ceilings Wednesday, so our plans of leaving for Anchorage that night were halted. Thursday morning was snow covered & beautiful. After sweeping the wings, plowing the runway, and warming the engine,  we took off inbound for Anchorage in Joel's C-206. At Merrill Field CJ & I grabbed our Subaru & drove to King Ranch with a lunch stop for calzones at our favorite place in Palmer. We met friends at Dwayne's ranch & discussed this years Bible camp over strong coffee. Our main purpose of the trip to King Ranch was to take Dwayne up on his offer to borrow an airplane for the rest of winter, rent free. We are excited for the opportunity to use the C-182 we flew in Texas, that was later donated to Kingdom Air Corp.  Please pray with us for wisdom on how to responsibly use this airplane not only as a convenient grocery getter & transportation to town, but also as a tool for God's kingdom in the villages.
Later that afternoon, I got a head start back to Anchorage in the Subie & CJ took off on Dwayne's snow covered grass strip with the C-182. We met back at Merrill Field where we tied down the airplane for the weekend. We spent Thursday afternoon running errands & catching up with an old friend, Dan over pie at the diner. Our commercial flight to Salt Lake City, Utah took off at 1:00am Friday morning & with the time zone change during flight,  Mike picked us up in Utah just in time for morning coffee.
We spent our time in Park City with CJ's parents, Mike & Pam & with his younger brother, Jordan. I found this trip to Park City different than the previous ones. This year I was most excited about seeing people, socializing, taking hot showers, walking downtown, the hot tub, fire place & going out to eat. I guess winter in bush Alaska changes my view of vacation fun. Not so with CJ. He ripped up the slopes on skis instead of his snowboard) for the first time in 12 years.
We made it to Anchorage early Monday morning without a hitch & crashed on Mark's couch for a few hours before our day of doctor appointments & grocery shopping. We filled the back of the C-182 with bulk food from Costco & flew together through snowy Lake Clark Pass back home. Airplane, vacation, fruit, family... a wonderful weekend away!

We left Whitehorse, Yukon yesterday morning after a good breakfast at Tim Horton's doughnut shop. The weather started off cloudy but it was not long before the sun popped out & we had a beautiful day. The final 200 miles or so in Canada were very bumpy & we had stuff all over the camper by the end of the day. We saw a lot of doll sheep in the morning & a moose. For lunch we stopped at Pick Handle Lake while Teco trotted around the shoreline - it was beautiful!
Just after lunch we saw a BIG grizzly bear just off the side of the road. It wasn't long after we crossed into our new home state of Alaska! We rolled into Tok, Alaska & had dinner at Fast Eddy's with Paul & his wife. We went to Paul's daughter's new cabin & Dwayne showed us the first house he ever built.
After dinner, we drove South to Glennallen. We got a guided tour of Dwayne's old stomping ground via the hand radio. We stopped at John & Cathy King's house & played with their kids, Jeremiah & Canyon. Cathy served us Moose dogs & we enjoyed great fellowship with them Tuesday evening.

We had a late start today from Liard Hot Springs & it was snowing big flakes when we woke up. Autumn felt horrible. We went through rain & snow all morning We saw buffalo, caribou, & a red fox. We passed Muncho Lake & it was beautiful!
For lunch we pulled over & made sandwiches in the RV. Not long after we got back on the road Dwayne radioed us saying he needed a nap. We took a "quick" power nap (about 1 hour). I got bored so I walked Teco around & then jumped in the RV to grap a Pepsi. Before I knew it, the RV was moving, so I quickly jumped out & shut the door & we all started laughing!
We stopped in Teslin to see a SEND couple (Derick & Jenny Baker) & had fellowship with them for about two hours. Jenny felt sorry for Autumn & gave her a new box of Kleenex for the road. It was great, but it put us behind a bit. We made it just shy of Whitehorse & decided to call it a night.

Saturday night we met a friendly Canadian, Stew, at the RV Park. He was making a living out of his RV as an oil field welder on the new rigs in Dawsons Creek.  He invited us for huge ribeye steaks, pickled garlic, and crushed jalapeno peppers.  We met Dwayne & Caroline after dinner & opted not to do any more driving that night.
Sunday morning we had devos in the trailer & started our journey on the Alaska Highway. We ran into some snow before Fort Nelson & saw a big black bear on the side of the road. We stopped at Boston Pizza in Fort Nelson & CJ fetched some medicine. I had a fever, soar throat, and runny nose. We drove through some big mountains after lunch & went through the most dangerous part of the trip, Steamboat Ridge. Good amounts of snow was accumulated on the ground & falling. We saw lots of buffalo.
Sunday night we camped in the RV at Liard Hot Springs. We are so thankful for the Kings & the RV because there are no motels around. The RV park wasn't open yet for the summer, so we mad do with just the water in our tank & no electricity. No shower for us tonight. CJ & Dwayne however went swimming in the hot spring & came back smelling of sulfur. I was too sick to go swimming.
