AIM Candidate Week 06/16/2009
Last week we flew the C-182 to Pearl River, NY to attend Africa Inland Mission’s candidate week. We were joined on campus with about 30 other people also considering AIM. CJ & I were the only couple there interested in AIM Air, so it was nice not to talk about airplanes the whole time. The fist couple of days were spent discussing the goals of AIM as a mission & learning about how they worked. The rest of the week was about AIM getting to know us. We spent hefty time with a counselor individually & as a couple assessing our emotional state. We talked about, travel, disease, death, taxes, cooking, fund raising, newsletters, trauma, shipping, rape, Swahili, airstrips, & the list goes on. We met many good friends we hope to be neighbors with, serving together in Africa someday soon. At the end of the week CJ & I were excited to receive a handshake & the honor of being appointed as an African Inland missionary. Praise the Lord for His continued faithfulness! 1 Comment | I lift my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven & earth.
